Full description

Department of Environment, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV327403.

House. Circa early/mid c19; rear wing probably earlier. Snecked local stone, rear wing partly plastered; slate roof, gabled at ends; rear wing partly roofed with slate, partly with corrugated iron; projecting stone stacks at ends with diagonally-set paired brick shafts. L plan with modest tudor details. Main range single depth, 2 rooms wide with a central entrance probably facing the stair. A rear left wing may be earlier than the main range and is partly used for service, partlt for storage.2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front with a central gabled porch with ornamental bargeboards, a chamfered rounded outer doorway and a panelled front door to the inner door, 2 first floor gabled dormers with ornamental bargeboards and 2-light casements, 3 panes per light; similar 3-light ground floor casements. The rear elevation has a first floor tudor arched stair light with ornamental glazing. The rear wing has casement windows and a first floor left entrance. Interior: not inspected but said to contain mill machinery (doe).
