Fields below cliffs at Littlecombe Shoot were in arable cultivation in circa 1840. The fields produced early potatoes and were manured with seaweed carried up by a donkey. Cultivation ceased in the 1960s. Small fields and remnants of boundaries depicted on the modern map in this area and to east may represent this practice.
