No 136, (The Torridge Inn), Mill Street. Probably early 18th century. Altered. Two storey, thatched, modern roughcast. 18th century door, sash windows with exposed frames, and wood casements. Flight of wide steps beside the inn leads to the terraced pavement on the north side of Mill Street.

Timms, S. C., 1983, Oral information from Mrs. E. Pointon, of Yarnscombe (Personal Comment). SDV4003.

This was formerly the Canal Tavern. Exterior only seen. This has been much altered and it gives no good indication of whether the building predates the construction of the canal in the 1820's. Building faces east.
