Building shown as 'dalwood factory' on os 6" 1906. Not known whether this is the same building as on same spot on os 6" 1963. A weir is shown on the corry brook a little to the north at st24470178: this may be associated with the 'factory'. Dalwood factory situated by the corry below pennyhill farm in stockland parish was a rope factory. It employed over 50 men and women, some of whom must have come from dalwood, as the parish register shown. The mill closed down towards the end of the 19th century. It has recently been re-built asx a private dwelling (chapman).

Vis=7/10/1992 (simpson and noble) the mill and rope factory have been converted into dwellings.
