Full description

Plot is named 'Smithy Meadow' on apportionment.

Possible tin mill at Lingcombe. Tithe map field name Smithy Meadow suggests possible mill site. There is a possible structure here.
Bodman, M., 2015, Mills on the Teign. A gazetteer of water-powered sites on the Teign and Bovey and their tributaries, 104 (Monograph). SDV360401.
Lingcombe tinners mill, Chagford SX 6883 8440. Site is a field to the north of the Mariners Way, discovered by Greeves. Bodman notes that Greeves found an extensive spread of tin slag on the surface of walker's route, but no sign of any structure or mouldstones yet. The slag however indicates this is the potential site of a tin blowing mill on the right bank of the River Bovey.
