Full description
1839, Bovey Tracey (Cartographic). SDV292968.
Bovey Cleaves, site of farmhouse, part of hamlet. Shown on Tithe Map as no 2172 'dwelling house etc'.

At this NGR is a rectangular area (c 25m x 8m) enclosed by a mortared stone wall, now lowered to a height of c1.5m and capped with modern concrete. Now used for storage, but possibly the footings of the farmhouse and barn. Some possible earthworks N of this. Uncertain whether this noted by Mitchell in the DCRA ball clay survey; reference to remains of a 'row of cottages and some cob walling'. Other details: Site visit.
