’corn mill’ at lumborn shown on os 25” (1880s) map as two large squarish buildings and several small buildings around two yards with a leat to the north (os).

Described in 1971 as an old corn mill which was damaged by fire in 1964 when the waterwheel and machinery were intact (bodman).

Lumburn Mill is shown on the Bedford Estate map of 1768 with 19th additions. After Newton Mills to the north was abandoned, the leat continued to serve Lumburn Mills, which survive at the road junction of Newton lane and the A390.
