Full description

Bligh Bond, F., 1903, Devonshire Screens and Rood Lofts. Part II, 443 (Article in Serial). SDV6113.

Church of St Bartholomew, Nymet Tracey. Rood screen to nave with continuation in N Aisle of different pattern. Arcaded lights with pierced traceried spandrels in square framing. Possibly coved or bracketed for a rood loft. Retains much of old colouring. Removed from old position to present location. N parclose screen.

Good, little restored 15C perpendicular oak rood screen of 5 bays with central doorway.

Carved 15C screen & may be fromed from the parts of two screens. It was moved from the west wall c1890 to present position. Finely carved parclose.
