Full description

South West Heritage Trust, 1838-1848, Digitised Tithe Maps and Transcribed Apportionments (Cartographic). SDV359954.

Plot 3186 is recorded as House, Homestead [Bradford Farm] and lane on the Tidcombe Tithe Apportionment.

Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Trackway shown (part of 3186) running south from the lane to the south of Bradford Farm to the north-west corner of a field (3180).

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.

Lane shown opposite Bradford Farm. It is continued as a footpath alongside the field boundaries to the canal.

Doggett, N., 1982, NDLR1 Card Index, F.24 (Archive - Survey). SDV56213.

The NDLR1 pipe trench cuts across track to the south of Bradford Farm. Although the road does not appear to be of any antiquity on the surface, the trench revealed a considerable depth of stratigraphy associated with it. Shown on the 1844 Tithe Map.

Doggett, N., 1983, The North Devon Link Road (Stage One). Sampford Peverell to Tiverton, F.24 (Un-published). SDV363254.

A pipe trench along the northern fence line of the North Devon Link Road cut through a trackway revealing three distinct layers of road make-up. The layers do not suggest any great age for the track, although it is shown on the Tiverton Tithe Map of 1844. It terminates at a hedgebank to the south but may have once continued further to the south-east, following the line of a field boundary, to the Tiverton-Halberton parish boundary.
