Harepath farm. Long two storeys. Seven windows. Stone rubble walls, roughcast at road end. Rough ashlar projecting quoins. Wood casements, those to 1st floor having wood lintels and those below gauged stone voussoirs. One 2- light casement at rear has lead glazing. Two chimneys in ashlar masonry, one being external with offsets. Hipped thatched roof. Probably early 18th century. Stone outbuildings. Dignified example of rural building.

Site visit: 11th August 1973. Farmhouse with gable end to the road and a uniform front to the farmyard. This appears to be of one build, probably in the late 17th century but the rear wall and roof space provide evidence of at least three different builds. The earliest section is the present living room, the original hall. The small room opposite the fireplace was probably originally the service room or buttery. A 16th or 17th century doorway survives at the lower end of the hall. There may have once been a corresponding doorway in the opposite wall. This section of the house and the added 'parlour', which contains a chimneypiece with 1612 scratched on at a later date, are roofed by a single jointed cruck construction suggesting that the whole was reroofed when the parlour as added. Laithwaite speculates that the house originated as a single storey hall and buttery open to the roof and heated by an open hearth and that a chimney stack and perhaps an upper floor were inserted in the 16th century and reroofed in the early 17th century. The present kitchen is a later ?17th century addition.
