Full description
Department of Environment, 1983, Newton Abbot, 44 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV298253.
Nos 85 and 87, Wolborough Street. Early 19th century. Two storeys stuccoed. Slate roof with 3 gabled dormers. Moulded eaves cornice. Three sashes with glazing bars intact. Part band. Central recessed doorcases with rectangular fanlight and zig-zag band. No 85 retains original early 19th century doorcase.

85 and 87 Wolborough Street. Pair of houses, possibly formerly one house. Early 19th century. Painted stucco, slate roof with tall rendered stacks to gable ends and 3 small gabled dormers with slate-hung cheeks and 2-light casement windows. Double-depth plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic; symmetrical 3-window range, (No.85 to the left has incised stucco and one window, No.87, two windows). Moulded eaves cornice; thin forward frames to 6/6-pane sash windows; plat band (removed from No.85); set-back paired doors with overlights, No.85 has an early 19th century doorcase with 2-pane overlight, zig-zag moulding to the lintel, and eccentric mouldings to the panels of the door. The panels of the door to No.87 are 20th century boarded-over. INTERIOR: not inspected. Date listed: 22nd March 1983.
