Full description
Department of Environment, 1983, Newton Abbot, 2 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV298253.
No 4, Bank Street. Facade of circa 1840 probably to 18th century building. Three storeys stuccoed. Mansarded slate roof with one dormer parapet. Moulded cornice. One tripartite sash to second floor. One altered window to first floor, flanked by pilasters. Modern shopfront. Rear elevation of red brick with stone quoins.

4 Bank Street. House with shop. Circa 1840. Painted stucco, slate roof with 20th century dormer breaking into the parapet wall. Double-depth plan. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with attic; one-window range. Panelled parapet, moulded cornice which steps very slightly forward over the windows to the upper floors; tripartite 6/6-pane sash window with painted stone mullions to the second floor; 20th century window to the first floor flanked by pilasters with moulded capitals supporting an entablature, the cornice of which serves as a sill to the window above. 20th century shop front.
