Full description

Department of Environment, 1973, Ashburton, 22 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV300597.

No 2, North Street. 18th century, two storey, stucco lined and painted. Two flush frame sash windows, at upper floors, with glazing bars. Slate roof, hipped. Wood shop front with slight modernisation.

Ashburton - East Street (north side) Nos. 1 and 3 - GV II (Includes No. 2 North Street)
Early 19th century house with shop. Rendered front (almost certainly timber-framed) lined to imitate masonry. Slated roof, hipped to left. Red-brick chimney. Three storeys, three-window front to East Street with two-windows return to North Street. 19th century shop front on both sides; to right of East Street front a 19th century door (6 flush panels in 2 rows of 3) in moulded architrave, and 2-paned sash window. Upper storey windows to East Street have 8-paned sashes. Those to North Street have triple sashes (6 panes in centre, 2 panes outside) in second storey; single-light sashes in third storey (4 panes over 8 panes).
