Full description
Department of Environment, 1973, Ashburton, 27 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV300597.
No 40, North Street. 18th century, three storey, two windows, casements at second floor, sashes at first floor (one with glazing bars remaining) one altered casement and one sash with centre glazing bars, at ground floor. Two entrances. Hipped roof of old slate.

Chimney just visible behind centre of ridge. 3 storeys. 2 windows wide, with doorway between the ground-storey windows. To left of doorway is a large blocked opening, part-filled with a 3-light late C20 wood casement window. Remaining ground-storey window and both second-storey windows have late C20 6-paned sashes in box-frames. 2-light wood casements, with 2 panes per light, in third storey.
