Nos. 9 and 9a, West Street. 18th century, four storey fronts, slate hung. Two flush frame sash windows, to upper floors, with glazing bars, slightly oversailing above 19th century wood shop fronts.

ASHBURTON - WEST STREET (South side) Nos.9 AND 9A - GV II
House with shop. Early or mid C19. Slate-hung front, rear and side walls, almost certainly on timber-framing. Hipped slated roof. Rendered chimney on left side wall. 4 storeys. 2 widely spaced windows wide with 1 window in exposed part of left side wall. Late C19 shop front. 9-panelled house door to right, the 6 lower panels flush, the top 3 panels now glazed; 3-paned fanlight. Upper storey slightly jettied. Windows have 6 and 8-paned sashes in moulded flush frames. The front of the building appears to overlap the right-hand end of No 7 (qv).
