Seems to be a single-fronted, double-depth house with side passage to left. This is now an open alley leading to a detached rear block; latter was originally linked to main house by a wing on right-hand side of courtyard (fragments remain).

Full description

Department of Environment, 1973, Ashburton, 46 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV300597.

No. 28, West Street. 18th century altered, three storey and attic with 4-light casement, slate roof. Rendered front, lined as ashlar. Two sash windows, at first and second floors, with glazing bars. Recessed entrance with steps to passage way through under, left.

House. Early C19. Solid rendered front, lined to imitate masonry. Slated roof. Red-brick chimney on right gable. Seems to be a single-fronted, double-depth house with side passage to left. This is now an open alley leading to a detached rear block; latter was originally linked to main house by a wing on right-hand side of courtyard (fragments remain). 3 storeys with garret. 2 windows wide. 2-paned sashes in ground storey; 8-paned ones above. Moulded board below eaves. Pent-roofed dormer with 4-light wood casement window, each light with 6 panes.
