Full description
Department of Environment, 1972, Kingsbridge, 41 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV141018.
Largely rebuilt circa 1800, stucco, painted, two storey, two windows, including splay bay at each floor, sash windows now with centre glazing bars only. Slate roof, hipped. Birthplace of 18th century poet John Wolcot, known as Peter Pindar. House is set back from general frontage. Leighton House, Conservative Club, Nos 1 to 4 (consecutive) South Place, Pindar Lodge, Nos 1 and 2 Victoria Place form a group in important position.

The group note appearing againt the entry for Leighton House, Conservative Club, Nos 1 to 4 (consec) South Place, and Pindar Lodge, The Promenade, should be amended to read 'Leighton House, Conservative Club, Nos 1 to 4 (consec) South Place, Pindar Lodge, Victoria Place (Nos 1-8) form a group in important position'.
