Old coryton house. Built c 1697 but mostly pulled down in 1754 when coryton park (sy29ne/55) was built (pulman).(also evidence of shrunken village here, sy29ne/64).

At Old Coryton can be seen some remains of the older mansion, which preceeded Coryton (built 1754-6). (2)
The former mansion which stood at a small distance from the present one was taken down in 1754. (3)
Old Coryton farmhouse at SY 27219890 is of two storeys, brick, slate roof, sash and casements, probably 18th Century. No features in the adjoining farm outbuildings can be positively identified as part of the pre-1754 mansion. The present owner (a) could offer no further information. (4)
