Full description

Department of Environment, 1972, Tiverton, 25 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV52494.

Nos 2 to 6 (even), Fore Street. Probably built after the fire in 1794. Three storey stucco fronted houses, painted. Adjoining Angel Terrace (nos 1 to 11, Angel Hill). No 2, three windows on curved front. Nos 4 and 6 (together) three windows. Flush frame sash windows, at upper floors, with glazing bars. Small wood eaves cornice, slates. Plain shop fronts, partly early 19th century and part modern.

Pair of houses with shops. Probably late 18th century, old list description suggests rebuilt after the fire of 1794. Plastered; slate roof; stacks not visible from street. On an important corner site with a curved frontage.
Exterior: three storeys with basement. Three-window front. Moulded eaves board. Shop to left has a plate glass window and two-leaf door with overlight to right. Shop to right has 20th century five pane shop window plus one light canted in towards the shop door to the right. First-floor windows are eight over twelve-pane sashes; second-floor windows are 16-pane sashes. Interior not inspected.
