Name:Brisworthy Tin Mill

Summary

Tin mill. Brisworthy burrows, (mill park). One wall which is built into the adjacent ground is still over 1.83m high. The house suffered considerably when a small cottage was built near it recently. No mould stone has been found. The mortar stones formerly in the house have disappeared but one remains outside and has two mortars. There was a stone in the house previously, now lost, but was described as a furnace base, but may have been an incomplete feeding shute (worth, 1940).

Remains of a blowing house located to the northwest of the Brisworthy Burrows on the north bank of the Plym River. The blowing house was documented as extant in the 16th century. Fieldwork has recorded the north and east walls surviving to a considerable height, but the interior and surroundings have been disturbed by building work during the 1950s.
