Summary
At cross roads a short distance south of south huish farm, about 1/2km west of the ruined parish church. It stands in an orchard on top of a tall roadside bank overlooking what is said to be its original site in the centre of the crossroads. Type b-c. A massive cross of octagonal section mounted on a modern roughly triangular base. The head and arms expand slightly outwards. The base bears an inscription illegible except for the date 1911. The cross is said to have been discovered in use as a gatepost near the lane to the coast (masson phillips). Vis=25/4/1988 (timms). Cross still in situ. Vis=14/8/1986 (os). This impressive granite latin cross is 1.5m high and the limbs extend to 0.75m; the crude base is ivy covered. Two blocked holes on one side of the shaft probably mark the former positions of the gate hangers.(os).
