Full description
Department of Environment, Untitled Source (Migrated Record). SDV329780.
Town mill, (corn mill) against the river ashburn, north east of st. Andrew's church, at rear of no 11. It is 18th century with later alterations and additions. Three storey main building with two storey wings, west. Stone, part rendered. Slate roof, and chimneys. Flush frame sash window, at 2nd floor, with blank panel each side. First floor, two sash windows, now with centre glazing bars only. Interior: two pairs of grinding stones remain in position, with machinery at first floor, granary bins at second floor. Fourteen feet diameter wood and metal water wheel. Water recently diverted (doe).
