In 1873 four barrows were recorded on a conical hill to the west of Hayes Barton at the given grid reference. A further record refers to four barrows near the conical hill (grid reference SY 04 85), which lay between Hayes Barton and Tucker’s Plants. Two of the barrows lay to the east of the hill and north of the road, and two to the west. It is uncertain if the two records refer to the same four barrows. In 1990 no visible remains could be seen of the features, and the conical hill and surrounding area are described as being extensively mutilated by military activity. The site appears to lay to the east of the survey boundary.
