National School which is now the Village Hall in Bratton Clovelly was Listed on 7th September 1987. The school was built in 1837 with slate and sandstone rubble walls and sandstone quoins under a gable ended slate roof. Two gable end rendered octagonal chimney stacks. Rectangular, single-room plan. Two window front of original 3-light casements with 2-centred head to each light; wooden lintels. Central gabled porch is original with four-centred arched sandstone doorway which has hoodmould and recessed spandrels. Contemporary double plank doors with studded vertical ribs. Above doorway is stone plaque with "1837 National School" carved in high relief. Rear elevation has two identical windows. Carved stone cornice under eaves. Interior not inspected.
