Full description
Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
Enclosure with an internal division and two 'Hut Circles' shown on 19th century map.
(SX 64955823) Enclosure (NR); (SX 65115825, SX 65105823 - 'A', SX 65125826 - 'B') Enclosure & Hut Circles.
Royal Air Force, 1947, RAF/CPE/UK/2105, 4055-6 (Aerial Photograph). SDV176920.
The easterly enclosure is roughly diamond-shaped and appears to be divided into two by a possible wall running approximately between the two hut circles. Faint traces of what may be another hut circle appear in the north corner.
Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1950, SX65NE29 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV167181.
(24/03/1950) SX 64955823 Enclosure and hut circles east of Addicombe. The enclosures and hut circles are correct as shown on the Ordnance Survey mapping. A worked stone was found in the position indicated by R H Worth; this may be trough referred to.
(SX 65125826) Partly worked trough in side of pound (citing Worth, R. H., 09/12/1948).
Worth, R. H., 1953, Dartmoor, 161-2 (Monograph). SDV231148.
Hankin, C. F., 1977-1980, Harford Parish Checklist (Worksheet). SDV149931.
Site visited on 12th October 1976. South-west of Butterdon Hill. The enclosure wall on its east side almost adjoins the old Redlake rail track but the nearest natural feature is the small Addicombe valley to the west. Roughly circular, the walls are not complete but in places have a height of circa 0.6 metres of rough loosely laid stones. In the south-east quadrant there is a wall which appears to divide off an elliptical area within the enclosure. This area appears to be recorded by the Ordnance Survey as a hut circle. There is a dilapidated hut circle in the north east wall of the enclosure, partly within the enclosure and partly outside. The walls are no higher than those of the enclosure. An air photograph of December 1945, shows the enclosure rather square with the south east elliptical area clearly seen, but no hut circle. Enclosure diameter circa 40 metres with walls 0.6 metres high. Hut circle diameter 7 metres.
Robinson, R., 1984, List of Field Monument Warden Visits 1984 (Un-published). SDV343082.
Site visited on 12th june 1984.
Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England, 1985, Aerial Photograph Project (Dartmoor) - Dartmoor Pre-NMP (Cartographic). SDV319854.

Butler, J., 1993, Dartmoor Atlas of Antiquities: Volume Four - The South-East, 16-18, Map 53, Figure 53.1 (Monograph). SDV337765.
'Enclosure A' at Addicombe is well preserved with a boundary wall still a metre high deflecting the course of the Red Lake railway. A wall divides the interior into upper and lower sections and a pair of huts of circa 5 metres diameter are included in the perimeter.
