Full description

Department of Environment, 1985, Heanton Punchardon, 98 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV86763.

Cottage, possibly l7th century but may have earlier origins. Whitewashed cob with thatched roof hipped at right end. Axial brick stack. Built gable end to street with gable entry. Single depth plan, 1½ storeys. Two eyebrow dormers with horizontal sliding sashes, 6 panes each sash over two 2-light timber casements, both to left of horizontal sliding sash, 6 panes each sash. Eighteenth century rainwater head on east side. Originally formed part of hostelry complex with Cowlers (LBS 98438) and Thatches (LBS 98440). Interior not inspected. Other details: LBS 98439.
