Summary

Ashlar stone gate piers with spearhead cast iron gates and railings by the lodge at the entrance to Castle Hill Park, probably dating to the mid 19th century. From either side of the entrance decorative iron railings extend along the north side of the road.

Department of Environment, 1987, Filleigh, 38 (List of Blds of Arch or Historic Interest). SDV89818.

Gate piers, railings and gates at Meadow Park Lodge. Probably mid 19th century. Ashlar and iron. Cast-iron gates with spearheads. Railings at either side. Gatepiers have caps and finials.

Decorative iron railing extend east and west from the lodge on the north side of the road. The railings on the south side are much plainer.

Gate piers, railings and gates at entrance to Castle Hill House, at Meadow Park Lodge. Probably mid C19. Ashlar and iron. 2 rusticated ashlar gate piers with caps and finials in the form of hemispheres divided by a square block at the equator. Cast-iron gates with spearheads, similar panel of railings at either side going to square iron open piers one of which is attached to Meadow Park Lodge.

Front railings to Castle Hill grounds to east and west of Meadow Park Lodge. Probably late C19. Iron. Every fourth upright has gadrooned capping with knob finials to the intermediate uprights.
