Front railings to Castle Hill grounds to east and west of Meadow Park Lodge. Probably late 19th century. Every fourth upright has gadrooned capping with knob finials to the intermediate uprights.

Walls, S. + Wapshott, E. + Balmond, F., 2018, Land Adjacent to Filleigh Village Hall, Filleigh, North Devon, Devon. Results of a Historical Visual Impact Assessment, 33 (Report - Assessment). SDV362928.

Nineteenth century decorative park railings. The railings are a later addition to the designed landscape, perhaps replacing earlier, plain railings. They are aesthetically pleasing, surviving almost complete along Filleigh Road.
There is some intervisibility in places between the railings, the park beyond and the proposed houses. Although the proposed development will have little direct impact on the railings themselves, the approach to the park from the west will change. The character and nature of the setting, however, will not alter as the houses will merely extend the existing estate village. The overall impact is considered to be neutral/slight.

Decorative iron railing extend east and west from the lodge on the north side of the road. The railings on the south side are much plainer.
