A tall milestone of 89 centimetres (c.1879), located approximately 80 metres north of the turn to Blakewell, on the grass verge, on the east side of the road. It was found to be worn with chunks out of the top left and centre edge, and was leaning at a slight angle. It's legend read '2/BARUM'.
There are relatively few milestones surviving on the route of the B3230, from Barnstaple to Ilfracombe. The road was built in c.1827, but the markers date from 1879 and were set at the roadside just prior to the closure of the Barnstaple Turnpike Trust, each bearing the medieval Latin name for the town of 'BARUM'.
