Full description
Timms, S. C., 1988, St Andrew's Church (Site Visit). SDV346052.
Site vist 25th April 1988. The churchyard has a fine selection of slate gravestones, mainly dating to the 18th and 19th century. It continued to be used for burials after the church went out of use in the late 19th century.

A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was undertaken during works associated with the construction of a new retaining wall at St Andrew's Churchyard which included the removal of a collapsed section of graveyard wall. This exposed a dark brown silty sand with frequent slate fragments interpreted as historic made ground probably resulting from earlier works. No deposits, features or dating evidence of earlier archaeological activity was found.
