Summary
Remains of a Medieval or later tinner's hut situated within an area of streamworks on the east side of Fox Tor Girt. An archaeological field survey in 1995 recorded a rectangular structure measuring 4.5 metres by 3 metres, with walls surviving to a maximum height of 0.9 metres. The east and south walls were fragmentary; the north and west walls survive as one course of moorstone blocks. No obvious entrance was recorded and the interior was obscured by reeds.

Des=worksheet(greeves 1988). Vis=6/5/1988 (greeves). Tinners building on river bank foxtor stream, 30-40m upstream from one at sx63306982, among workings. Crude rectangular structure of single set stones, 4.5m x 2m, aligned ns (greeves).

(12/09/1995) A ruinous tinners building lies in an area of streamworks (Monument HOB UID 1064050) on the east side of Fox Tor Girt at SX 62966981. The rectangular structure measures 4.5m NW to SE by 3m. The walls are on average 0.9m high and 1.2m wide. The east and south walls are fragmentary; the north and west walls survive as one course of moorstone blocks. There is no obvious entrance and the interior is obscured by reeds.
