Full description

Anderson, I. K., 1906, 11th Report of the Dartmoor Exploration Committee, 109, hut 50 (Article in Serial). SDV337055.

One of a settlement at Watern Oke. Hut 50; Composed of large stones overlapping, some having fallen inwards, very difficult to explore. The entrance was apparent at east, measuring 5 feet wide (1.52m). The fireplace extended from east to west on northern side. Not circular, this dwelling measured 14 feet north-south (4.27m) by 8 feet east-west (2.43m). Earthen floor and a few cooking stones and pieces of spar were found.

(1992) SX 5654 8341 Hut circle terraced into the hillslope. Simple plan and coursed stone walls type. Interior measures 5m by 3.3m and is defined by a 1.6m wide wall standing up to 0.7m high. Doorway faces east and has been blocked with loose rubble. Excavations by the Dartmoor Exploration Committee in 1905, revealed a fire-place close to the north wall, a few cooking stones and pieces of spar.
