Direction stone, at the crossroads north of Downhouse, built into a rough stone wall on the right hand side of the road to Tavistock, is a roughly rectangular block, lying on its side. It bears the incised letters "TA". It may be a portion of a direction stone split lengthwise, and used in the wall.
