Site visit 23rd March 1987. Two large earthen round barrows spaced approx 10 metres apart are situated on a gentle slope of a south-facing hillside at 80 metres. They lie in a regularly cultivated field and have been spread by deep ploughing; field hedges immediately to the north and east were effaced in the late 1960s and are now traceable only as cropmarks. Both mounds are apparently composed of soil with a low density of small stone similar to that occuring over the surrounding area. Approx 34 metres in diameter and on average 1.3 metres high with a maximum height of 1.6 metres on the downhill side.
Environment Agency, 1998-2017, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution) EA: South Devon Coast to Dartmoor, LIDAR SX6049 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 31-MAY-2017 (Cartographic). SDV361470.

One of three Late Neolithic to Bronze Age bowl barrows in a broadly south-west to north-east alignment, sited on a gentle south facing slope near the head of a valley. The southern mound is 40 metres in diameter by up to 1 metre high. The ditches from which material was quarried during the mounds' construction survive as buried features measuring 4 metres wide. There is a further barrow 500 metres to the south-south-east.

An oval mound, circa 40m long by 34m wide, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1945 onwards and on visualisations derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2017. The earthwork is one of three adjacent mounds situated on the south facing slope of a spur which are interpreted as possible Bronze Age barrows.
