An earthwork depression is visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. It partially corresponds with a plot recorded as 'Pit in Three Acres' on the Tithe Map. It also corresponds with the eastern part of an 'Old Marl Pit' on the First Edition OS map. The western part has been impacted by modern development.
The depression is interpreted as part of a marl pit of post-medieval to 19th century origin, that ceased extraction by the end of the 19th century.
