Two irregular earthwork pits are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. They correspond with features depicted on the historic mapping; they are marked as ‘Old Clay Pits’ on the late-19th century OS maps. The tithe map and apportionment record the features as woodland, each named ‘Pit’, which suggests that they went out of use and were subsequently wooded by the mid-19th century.
