'Gravel Pit' shown on 19th century map as a rectilinear feature to the north of the field boundary.
Ordnance Survey, 1904 - 1906, Second Edition Ordnance Survey 25 inch Map (Cartographic). SDV325644.
'Gravel Pits' shown on the early 20th century map in an irregular shaped enclosure on the south side of the field boundary. A small irregular quarry feature is shown to the southeast at the southern end of a track running south from the road.
