Cropmarks of ditches are visible on aerial photographs of 1984, defining a roughly D-shaped area approximately 42m by 52m in size, on the gentle south-west facing slop, immediately north-east of Sign of the Owl Cross.
The cropmarks are possible evidence of an enclosure of Iron Age to Roman date.
Linear cropmarks extending north-west from the enclosure might be evidence of associated field boundaries or trackways, possibly extensions of south-west to north-east aligned linear features recorded separately as MDV127997.
