Cropmarks of buried ditches circa 2 to 3m wide and up to circa 130m long are visible on aerial photographs of 1984 on the north-west facing slope south of Wood Farm, overlooking the combe of the Lud Brook.
The date and function of the ditched features are unknown. It is possible that they are evidence of buried pipelines for agricultural use, possibly spring fed, but an interpretation as natural watercourses is also possible.
