Summary

A Second World War circular airfield recognition marker at RAF Folly Gate. The marker is visible as a structure circa 40m in diameter set into the ground on RAF aerial photographs of the 1940s, remains visible a cropmark on aerial photographs of 1984 and is identifiable as a slight earthwork ditch on images derived from lidar data.

Vis=7/12/1988 (robinson) level hilltop, site of second world war airfield. Visible as annular depression. Built as concrete marker for planes (local information) (dprfp).

A ditched circular enclosure is clearly visible on the LiDAR. However, it may be wartime installation of some sort.
