Full description

Grinsell, L. V., 1978, Dartmoor Barrows, 142 (Article in Serial). SDV273224.

Site visit 13th June 1971. Round barrow with possible ditch situated in rough pasture. 18.0 metres diameter, 0.8 metres high.


Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division, 1983 - 2004, SX47NE6 (Ordnance Survey Archaeology Division Card). SDV342330.

1. Site visit 06th October 1950. One of group of four bowl barrows (A). 17.0 metres diameter, 1.0 metres high. In fairly good condition, turf convered with traces of a surrounding ditch.
2. Site visit by L.V. Grinsell in 1971. 18.0 metres diameter, 0.8 metres high.
3. Site visit 07th November 1983. On a flattish hilltop, a flat-topped platform barrow, 20.0 metres in diamter and 0.7 metres igh. Traces of ditch no visible on ground. In good condition, grass covered, but crossed by narrow rig and furow. No finds were made. Other details: Barrow A.

Department for Culture, Media and Sport, 2002, Round Barrow Cemetery and Beacon at Heathfield, 650 metres West of Moorlands (Schedule Document). SDV342326.

[Part of] a round barrow cemetery, situated on a prominent upland ridge, containing five bowl barrows and three bell barrows, as well as a beacon. Two additional barrows, representing outlying components of the cemetery are situated to the west. The bowl barrows each include circular mounds which vary in diameter from 20.6 metres to 24 metres and in height from 0.6 metres to 1.2 metres. See schedule document for full details.
