Full description
North Devon District Council Rescue Archaeology Unit, 1991, North Devon Archaeological Site Code Index, Site Code ND155 (Report - non-specific). SDV63429.
In excess of 2 metres of stratigraphy was recorded in a sewer trench in North Walk in 1989. 17th-18th century pottery was recovered.

Site records suggest over 4 metres of recorded stratigraphy with up to 2.7 metres of humic silts which may be river or marsh deposits or possible fills of the outer bailey ditch.
