Two earthwork depressions are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. One of the earthworks circa 20m by 15m corresponds with an 'old marl pit' depicted on the First Edition OS map and with a projecting section of field recorded on the Tithe Map. The other earthwork circa 25m by 15m does not correspond with any features depicted on historic maps. Both earthworks are interpreted as marl pits of post-medieval to 19th century origin, one of which ceased extraction by the late-19th century.
