Summary
A curved defensive wall with four gun embrasures. Built of concrete and local limestone. About 1.8 metres high with four gun embrasures. Now forms the south-western corner of the boundary wall of the Travel Lodge, where it meets that of Park House.

Full description
Hellis, J., 1990, List of Defensive Sites (Un-published). SDV99101.
Associated with the American military use of the area. Nearby houses were used by the army and there was a light aircraft landing strip beside the sands.

Site visit 13th April 1996. Embrasured wall to cover the northern end of Paignton Sands.

Defence wall built of concrete and local sandstone. It is about 24 feet long and 6 feet high with four gun slits giving a 90 degree sweep of fire. It was manned by the Torbay 10th Battalion C Company of the home guard. Now part of a hotel boundary wall.

Site visit 7th July 1999. This site is in very good condition. It is well maintained as it forms the boundary wall of a hotel. It is highly visible now as it has been white-washed.Some ivy growth is visible along the top of the wall which should be monitored.
