The owner stated that this shaft was infilled/capped in the 1960s. It appeared to be a rubbish dump in 2009.

The shaft (Dev HER 39656), which Barclay and Toll had reported was filled to within 15ft of the surface, has now been completely backfilled (M Crocker of Battishill pers comm) though the site of the shaft is currently covered by vegetation. A hollow, elongated trench, just to the west of the shaft, was excavated in recent times as a receptacle for rubbish, for which purpose it still serves.
