Full description
Worth, R. H., 1949, The Moorstone Age, Part 1, 327-328 (Article in Serial). SDV274816.
Octagonal quern at Ditsworthy Warren, which was formerly at Longstone, Sheepstor. Made of Roborough Down elvan. Has been deepened from original depth of 76 millimetres to 127 millimetres to adapt the quern for use as an ordinary trough. There is an outlet for flour in the middle of one side and on either side of the hole a fillet, width 19 millimetres, is raised approximately 4 ½ millimetres. One of the many devices used to prevent flour from straying.

Octagonal lower stone of Roborough Elvan with a spout hole through one side. The pot, 10.7/8 inches diameter, has been deepened to turn the stone into a trough.
The quern was formerly at Longstone, Sheepstor.
