A quarry is first depicted here on the First Edition Edition Ordnance Survey map of between the 1880’s-90’s. It is also shown on the 6" inch 1963 Ordnance Survey map. A sub-rectilinear spoil heap measuring approximately 34m in length by 27m in width is located on the northern side of the quarry.
