South facing farmhouse probably dating to the early 19th century and central to a group of five farms in Arlington Beccott. Described as a pleasant example of a small polite house.
The house was built c.1800 with two 'polite' rooms at the front and two smaller, service rooms at the rear with a central staircase leading up to three bedrooms. The house was altered in the mid 19th century when the building connecting the rear of the house was removed and the dairy built. Further alterations took place in the 20th century with the western outbuilding gradually being absorbed into the house.
Penberthy Farm was amalgamated with Middle Beccott in 1966 and with South Beccott in 1969.
