| Name: | Enclosure at Goldenpark, Hartland |
|---|
Summary
Goldenpark was recorded as Middell Butterbury in 1566. The latter contains the place name element 'bury' from the old English 'burh' meaning enclosure. This may hint at an enclosed settlement of the post-roman 'round' type although there is no evidence on the ground.
