Cropmark features of possible prehistoric date are visible on aerial photographs of 1989 at Holset, East Portlemouth. The features are located on gentle northwest facing slope on the eastern side of High House Farm. The site includes a circular ring ditch, which measures approximately 13.5m in diameter with a possible 5m wide break along its western side and a possible sub-circular pit-like feature to its west which measures approximately 4m in diameter. The two cropmark features appear to be partly enclosed on their northern side by a possible associated enclosure ditch which measures approximately 4m wide and is northwest to southeast aligned, with a well-defined, angular corner at its northwest extent. The cropmark features, which may represent the remains of a possible prehistoric settlement, were not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
